The story of Whitehaven Wine began when founders Greg and Sue White cast away from the expected to sail the Pacific in the pursuit of adventure. After experiencing the extraordinary natural beauty and distinctively vibrant Sauvignon Blancs of Marlborough, New Zealand, they knew they’d found the adventure of their lives – establishing Whitehaven winery. The winery was their pledge to create New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc that embodied the unique character of Marlborough and celebrated their insatiable zest for life.
Today, Whitehaven stands not just as a winery, but as a testament to the spirit of adventure and the pursuit of a dream. It is a beacon for all those who dare to venture beyond the horizon and never stop exploring.

SUE WHITE
As founder and Marlborough pioneer, Sue White has carried Whitehaven Wine to where it is today: a close-knit team that crafts the exceptional, most awarded New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc*. Sue is passionate about preserving the integrity of the Whitehaven name, building upon the proud, enduring legacy of the White family, and sharing her love for Marlborough in every glass of Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc.

PETER JACKSON
A cycling adventure through the wine regions of France inspired a dramatic career pivot for Peter Jackson. Returning home to Australia, he altered course from his pursuit of a law degree to study enology. Peter's first encounter with Marlborough was the 2005 vintage—an experience that left him in awe. A vigneron more than a winemaker, Peter crafts Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc from the best possible sites, seeking to convey their subtleties and faithfully capture Marlborough’s renowned fruit intensity and vibrance.
